(December 24, 2024) It is that special time of the year when we celebrate Christmas and enjoy spending time with family and being thankful for friendships and those around us. While it is a wonderful time to celebrate and be thankful for our friends and family, it is also an important time to remember those who may not be fortunate enough to be able to be with family and who are by themselves. Taking a few minutes to reach out to those individuals and wishing them all the best will mean a lot to them. It tells them that someone cares.
BC Métis Leader Clara Morin Dal Col says, “Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all Métis families everywhere. Many of us have special memories of Christmas from when we were young. In my case it was Ile-a-la-Crosse in Saskatchewan and Hay River, NWT. A single present under the tree meant so much to us and we thought we were so lucky. I am still that way, and am so thankful for what we have, but I’m especially thankful and grateful for our family and many friends. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to each and every one of you.”
