An Opportunity to Vote for Real Change on the MNBC Board

(September 6, 2024) The deadline for voting in this MNBC General Election is coming up quick and this is your opportunity to make a real change on the MNBC Board of Directors. MNBC Citizens can vote online up until 8 PM (Pacific), Saturday, September 7th.

Former MNBC President Clara Morin Dal Col said, “Even though I’m not on the ballot this time as a result of an undemocratic and illogical interpretation of a provision of the MNBC Constitution by the Chief Electoral Officer and the MNBC Senate, MNBC Citizens still have the opportunity to make a real change within the MNBC Board, by electing candidates from the Clara Morin Dal Col Team, including:

  • Melanie Allard for MNBC Vice President

  • Linda van Wieringen for Provincial Métis Women’s Chair

  • Allan Lavallee for Region 2 (Lower Mainland) Director

  • Wendy Chernivchan for Region 3 (Thompson/Okanagan) Director

  • Don Courson for Region 4 (Kootenays) Director

  • Greg Sterling for Region 5 (North Central) Director

Ms. Morin Dal Col said, “I am very proud of our candidates. They have come from the grassroots of our Métis communities to offer their services to our Métis Citizens. They are experienced, knowledgeable and committed to putting your interests first, not their own.”

She added, “Our candidates are all about accountability and transparency, and I encourage all MNBC Citizens to vote for them in this election to ensure real change takes place on the MNBC Board.”
